Description

Experience the hidden charms of Beck View in Windermere, a luxurious home set above the hustle and bustle of Bowness and just a short stroll from the shores of Lake Windermere. Is this the perfect place for your Lake District adventures?

The space

Private, peaceful and filled with character, surrounded by stunning gardens, Beck View is a spacious family home, designed with sociability in mind.

Pull up on the driveway, with enough parking here for up to 4 cars, and instantly sense the seclusion; surrounded by woodland Beck View is exceptionally private.

Step inside the spacious hallway, the perfect sanctuary from any unkind Lake District weather, and leave your muddy boots behind.

Sense the light and tranquillity in the snug, where windows frame views out over the woodland garden, cascading beck and to Lake Windermere. A cosy room with a corner sofa and huge cinema TV, here you can hunker down with popcorn to spend the evening playing your favourite board games with the whole family. Opposite the snug, make your way through to the dining room, the perfect room to relax, entertain and dine with family and friends.

Continue through into the sunny living room, where a wall of bi-folding doors opens out onto the terrace and provides stunning lake views. In the summer months why not throw open the doors and take your dining alfresco, watching the setting sun with a glass of wine in hand. Or perhaps snuggle up on the sofa in front of the log burning stove and enjoy an evening watching your favourite films on Netflix.

Follow the feeling of warmth through to the well-equipped kitchen, where a cheerful Aga radiates comfort and a constant source of heat. A natural hub, chat around the island with a drink as dinner is being prepared. Make your morning coffee here on the coffee machine and pause in the windows to soak in the views of the stunning wild garden outside.

Returning to the entrance hallway, wander upstairs to explore the first floor of Beck View. Turn left and step through into the first spacious bedroom with a king-sized bed and complete with a newly renovated en-suite shower room.

Returning along the landing, turn left into the master bedroom, a light and bright room with an en-suite featuring a shower, wash basin and WC. The five-star feature of this master suite, however, is its stunning views; picture waking up to views of the sunrise over Lake Windermere with a cup of tea in bed.

Carry on along the corridor to discover a luxurious double bedroom, a spacious twin room with vaulted ceilings, a family bathroom and a fun room at the end of the corridor with a cabin bed, TV and Xbox console – the perfect play den for children.

Step outside:

Explore outside at Beck View: a beautiful woodland garden, with weaving footpaths and bridges to cross over the stream, waterfalls and ponds; there is so much to discover. A treasure trove of hidden pockets, rare plants, secret sheds and so much wildlife, Beck View’s gardens are a hidden delight.

Celebrate and come together with loved ones in luxury, comfort, and style in the sumptuously furnished and lovingly styled Beck View, set above Lake Windermere. Family friendly luxury in a traditional setting; Beck View is an accessible and tranquil retreat you will simply never want to leave.

Please Note: CCTV is in operation around the exterior of the property for security reasons and will be operational during your stay.

Guest access

Parking is available for 3/4 cars on the private driveway.

Bowness & Lake Windermere are a 20 minutes stroll away.

Other things to note

The huge garden is wild and beautiful but would be dangerous for young children if left unattended. There is a stream without a fence, a raised bridge and many steps and steep areas of ground.

The steps at the front of the house are also very steep and would be unsuitable for non-able bodied guests.
