The Lake District is a great place to visit if you love a good event. There is always plenty of festivals and activities to attend throughout the county. We’ve put together a list to save you searching, so you can make the most of your time in this spectacular place!
14th September – Ulverston Lantern Festival, Ulverston
Wrap up warm and watch the trail of home-made lanterns parade through the town, expect to be blown away by the towns incredible efforts to celebrate the new season.
15th September – Dalemain Harvest Festival, Penrith
Celebrate autumn with a cider, bees, vintage tractors and plenty of food – what’s not to love?
21st September – Cumbria Pride, Carlisle
Celebrate pride in a community ran event, with free activities and festivities ran by local charities.
27th September – Lakes International Comic Festival, Bowness
Artists from across the world gather in an iconic celebration of comic artists. With talks, demonstrations and activities for all age groups.
27th-29th September – Green Door Art Trail, Cumbria
Follow the arts trail around Cumbria and be welcomed into artists’ studios and home as they showcase the talent of Cumbria.
28th September – Kendal Torchlight, Kendal
A daytime street party and evening parade. Follow floats, bands and street performers as they rally through the town. A perfect family event.
3RD October – Forage & Nibble with Alpkit, Ambleside
Learn to forage on this 3-hour course finished with a tasty picnic!
4th – 5th October – Kendal Music Festival, Kendal
A two-day live music event throughout the town showcasing the best of local talent.
18th -20th October – Potfest in the Pens, Penrith
Around a hundred ceramists gather for a ceramic market like nowhere else. Perfect for Christmas shopping or picking up the perfect unique piece.
19th October – Striding Edge by Torchlight
Traverse Striding Edge by torchlight in aid of Mountain Rescue. This is a guided, fundraising event.
26th October – Penrith Winter Droving, Penrith
The perfect way to welcome in the dark nights, the Winter Droving is a traditional, magical masked parade through the town of Penrith. With live music round every corner and performers including fire breathers, gymnasts and dancers. Participants are encouraged to dress up and enjoy themselves in a celebration of rural life.
